Covid 19 and Attendance Guidance Update

The guidance on Covid-19 is under respiratory infections. Specifically on the circumstances in which a child or member of staff should not attend school, the guidance states:

  • Children with mild symptoms such as a runny nose, sore throat, or mild cough, who are otherwise well, can continue to attend school.
  • If a child or young person has a positive COVID-19 test result they should try to stay at home and where possible avoid contact with other people for 3 days after the day they took the test. The risk of passing the infection on to others is much lower after 3 days if they feel well and do not have a high temperature.
  • Children and young people who live with someone who has a positive COVID-19 test result should continue to attend as normal.

Covid-19 tests are now not available to schools and therefore weekly testing is no longer part of our requirement.

Please ensure that you contact the absence line before 8.30am on each day of absence 01642 310561 and select option 1.

We will continue to make follow up absence calls and home visits where absence is not reported to ensure all children are safeguarded.

Thank you for your ongoing support in this matter.
