Our students were invited to the first ever 'Meet the Mayor' morning with Headstart South Tees, beginning with the Mayor giving an overview of what happens in the Chamber.
He explained that two of our students were sat in the leaders and deputy leaders seats!
Our students then joined other schools to ask the Mayor questions regarding poverty, crimes which impact on young people in our area, local improvements, local crime rates, employability and local democracy. This provided our students with a fantastic opportunity to engage with local government.
During the second part of our morning, our students participated in workshops on future aspirations, career choices and poverty, before being given a tour of the Mayor's office and private meeting with the Mayor.
